Stien den Hollander, born in 2000, uses rap, song and spoken word to tell her most personal stories. Her debut album Snowsniper, released in 2019, won the Netherlands’ most prestigious musical award, the Edison, in the Alternative category. In late 2020, she released her second album, Vlinders, an ‘album for young people with scars’. This album was also nominated for an Edison in 2021. Although S10’s sound features important basic elements taken from hip-hop, she uses her impressive singing voice more often than she raps. The productions (usually by her regular partner Sim Fane) combine powerful kicks with dark and psychedelic melodies.

S10 bridges youth culture and other art forms, working just as easily with hip-hop artists, like Sticks, Kraantje Pappie and Willem, as with Wende Snijders. Dutch daily Het Parool had this to say about S10’s performance in De Waalse Kerk in Amsterdam: ‘She is old and serene and young and wild all at once.’ Major festivals like Lowlands, Best Kept Secret and WOO HAH! have booked her for 2021, but first she will be performing twice at De Harmonie for us.

With great thanks to De Harmonie.
